Cookie policy
Placeholder policy — pending full legal review.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies
trusthost.org doesn't run ads and doesn't use third-party ad-tracking cookies. What we do store is kept in your browser's local storage rather than traditional cookies, for the reasons below.
What's stored in your browser
- Sign-in session — so you stay logged in between visits.
- Theme preference — which color palette you picked from the palette switcher.
- Your reviews, tickets, saved hosts, and reports — so your account pages can show them to you.
- If you own a listing — your host's profile data and dashboard settings.
None of this is sold or shared with advertisers. See our privacy policy for how account data is used more broadly.
Anonymous usage analytics
We use Vercel Analytics in production to understand traffic patterns (pages viewed, rough visitor counts) in aggregate. It doesn't use cookies or track you individually across sites. We also count page views per hosting listing to power the "Trending now" section of the directory — this is stored per-listing, not tied to who viewed it.
Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google's own sign-in flow may set its own cookies during that process, governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
Managing what's stored
Clearing your browser's site data for trusthost.org will sign you out and reset your theme preference. Deleting your account (via a support ticket from your account, or by emailing [email protected]) removes your stored data from our side.
Changes
This is a placeholder policy while trusthost.org is in development and will be replaced with a complete, legally reviewed version before public launch.
